Company history
KHIMIK has an eventful century-long history that began in the 1920s as Krasny Khimik Artel was founded in the town of Luga near St. Petersburg.
Following rapid development, a small cooperative grew into a large high-end manufacturing complex with its own research center. Nowadays the plant is the historical and industrial center of the federal business entity – KHIMIK Group of Companies which consists of a number of manufacturers and distributors across Russia.

Boasting years of experience and highly professional personnel, and having its manufacturing facilities continuously renovated and recent developments and manufacturing techniques adopted, KHIMIK is able to rank high in the chemical industry and keep growing despite modern-day challenges.
The company’s existing production and infrastructure facilities are regularly reconstructed and modernized. Over five recent years, a new anticorrosive paint shop was built and launched to produce protective paints for oil and gas pipelines and for oil storage tanks, and main production areas were automated. Reaction departments are reconstructed, and process flows and equipment are improved on a consistent basis. A gas boiler house was put into operation in 2012, and it has significantly improved the company’s energy efficiency.

In 2005 KHIMIK was awarded as the Best Industrial Enterprise in Leningrad Region.
All products are subject to tight quality control and all necessary certification. KHIMIK’s quality management system was certified to meet GOST R ISO 9001-2001 in 2007, and successfully recertified to meet GOST ISO 9001-2011 (ISO 9001:2008) in 2013.
The company’s products are widely recognized in both industrial and consumer markets. They were featured at various exhibitions in Moscow and St. Petersburg more than once. KHIMIK’s fair collection of awards includes certificates of participation from international exhibitions, an Honorary Diploma of the winner of a quality evaluation contest, and a Quality Checked and Approved sign.
The company’s own science and technology center and many years of experience allow its team to quickly handle problems associated with the development of new, and improvement of existing, goods. Strong business ties, continuous technology development, modern managerial style, and much more besides are determinant factors driving the growth of the chemical industry.
